I am an essayist and fantasy writer with pieces in places such as The Minnesota Women's Press, Strange Horizons, and Ideomancer. I'm from a large Midwestern Irish-Catholic family on my dearly departed dad's side and a teeny-tiny Southern Methodist family on my mother's side. If you look at me closely, you can see I even walk lopsided. I grew up in the Chicago and New York areas and now live in Minneapolis with my husband Jan, a punk rock stay-at-home dad; and our two boys: Arie, a five-year-old with Asperger and Tourette Syndromes, and Éiden, a three-year-old normie. By day, I'm an ad copywriter. By night, I'm an obsessive folkie who spends my time Irish, English, and International folk dancing; learning Irish Gaelic; playing my bodhrán (with my three sisters if I can get my hands on 'em); and listening to traditional music. I talk too much.
